Eiffel Tower

 

The eiffel Tower is the most prestigious property of Paris (France). It is a paddle iron lattice tower located on the champ de mars. It is also known as Iron lady. It is the tallest building in the Paris build in 1889. The designer of Eiffel Tower is “Alexandra Gustave eiffel”

The construction of Eiffel Tower is stated in the year 1887 and the building is completed in 1889. The opening (inaugurated) of Eiffel tower is on 31st march of 1889 and the opening of Eiffel Tower is done by the Prince of wales, later King Edward II of England. It is the most-visited paid monument in the world with more than 2,000,000 visitors in the first year. Approx 200 million people visited this great building till now and more. It is the most attractive building ever as it is build to bring more people to France. Tower was slated to only stand for 20 years, But after 20 years it become a valuable communication tool for radio broadcasting.

The Tower is about 324 metre (1,063 ft) tall . As said it is the tallest building of paris .The title of world’s tallest man-made structure to Eiffel Tower is about 41 years . It is the world’s tallest building during the years from 1889 to 1930.

There is one Austrian tailor jumped from the height of 60 metres from the first deck of the Eiffel Tower on Feb 4th 1912 by using home made parachute unfortunately he died, His name was Reichelt.
